The pattern variables of specificity-diffuseness and neutrality-affectivity, as they pertain to occupational and familial role-expectations, are treated as attitudinal dimensions. For both pattern variables, rankings upon the familial and the occupational attitude scales are found to be unrelated to each other. However, they are related, albeit differently, to an attitude Hale regarding the exclusion-inclusion of the familial and occupational milieux.
