Isi artikelBackground: Cerebral haemodynamic changes is very common in patients with acute neurological insult. Neither angiographic nor neuroim-aging studies cab be performed in ICU setting. Method: The design of the study is cross sectional. Datas were obtained from TCD registry of 234 consecutive patients. Risk factors documentation were performed systematically. TCD examination was performed using TD-DOP 9000 equipment with a 2-MHz probe for the examination of intracranial circulation. We diagnosed MCA stenosis if peak systolic velocity (PSV) greater than 140 cm/s or mean systolic velocity (MFV) >80 cm/s. The stenosis of posterior circulation was defined when PSV >90 cm/s or MFV >60 cm/s. Result: The data were obtained from 234 patients, complete studyin 182 patients. Ischemic stroke is the most common indications for performing TCD sudies. Hypoperfusion was present in 21% cases. Stenosis present in 38% cases. Stenosis in anterior circulation are more common. The most common risk factors are hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes. Intracranial stenosis are more frequently detected in patients with history of diabetes mellitus adn hypertension, respectively. Conclusion: Mobile TCD examinations can give valuable information about cerebral haemodynamic in acute stroke patients. The examinations can be performed safely for unconscious, bedriden, and ventilated patients.
