Isi artikel
This article critically analyses research on young people’s internet use. Based on a literature analysis, it examines which young people do what on the internet. These results invite a reflection on the dominant discourse on the digital divide. Within this discourse, there is a strong focus on the use of the internet for information purposes only, a focus which is strongly influenced by the knowledge society. From a pedagogical perspective, the article makes a case for a wider view of this dominant use, since it endangers groups of young people who may already be on the margins of the digital divide.
