Isi artikelThe structure of the U.S. family with regard to nuclear and extended affiliations is viewed in terms of the dedication practice in books. Data from a sample of 131 autobiographies indicate that there is no significant trend for authors in the united States to dedicate more of their works to the nuclear family today than in former times. Also, there is no indication that the U.S. family is becoming more "non-family" oriented. Novel methodology employed is suggested as a fruitful approach to research problems.
