Isi artikel
This paper reports an attempt to determine degree of association between levels of inter-parental concordance and severity of emotional disturbance in 54 children referred for psychiatric evaluation. Parental variables included (1) inter-parental agreement in leadership-task performance, (2) consistency of parental communication of directionality of attitudes toward others, (3) association between (1) and (2) above, and (4) background data. The criterion variable was severity of diagnosis and prognosis. Three hypotheses were tested. Except for the finding that parents who took vacations alone were associated with the severe conditions and also several unpredicted trends, the basic hypotheses were not found to be tenable.
