Isi artikel
This paper describes an exploratory study of communication about contraception based on interviews with 50 freshman women. Contraceptive communication was assessed by the extent to which the topic was discussed in high school and college and by the knowledge of specific birth control methods. Most respondents had contraceptive information to some degree, and nearly all desired more authoritative information; but they tended to view contraception as an area peripheral to their central interest in sexual behavior and standards. Contraceptive communication showed some association with religion, college major, birth position, and verbality.
