Isi artikel
A sample of 272 university students were asked about their terms of address and their feelings for their parents, aunts, and uncles. The findings confirm some of the earlier suggestion of Schneider and Homans and fail to confirm others. Children did not use more intimate terms of address to the parent of the opposite sex, and sentiments toward parents were not highly correlated with preferred terms of address. Uncles and aunts were more likely to be addressed with the kin terms by females, if they were mother's siblings, and if they were not well liked. The implications of these and other findings are discussed.
