Isi artikel
Comparative analysis of demographic data on selected countries (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Yugoslavia, and the United States) indicates a common decline in average age at marriage and an increasing incidence of marriages involving males and females under 20 years of age. From papers prepared for the Eighth International Seminar on Family Research, these comparative data and their varying sociological explanations are drawn and analyzed. The explanations are found to vary according to the conceptual framework of the papers utilized. Four differing conceptual schemes are identified along with some of the specific sociological generalizations pertinent to each framework.
