Isi artikelUnmarried mothers are frequently unreached in our society. Even when they come to maternity homes, the babies are often the foci of agency concern, and the mothers leave with their basic problems untouched. This paper describes the attempt of an agency, the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, Florida, to reach out to a group of girls in a maternity home and to another quite dissimilar group of dropouts from school because of pregnancy. Group counseling is aprocess which can help many of these persons, some of whom can gain thereby the necessary strength and support to tolerate individual counseling.
