Research exploring the organization of the adolescent personality has conceptualized personality as a self-other system which includes reference groups, role prescription, and self conceptions among its components. Relationships within and among these and other components remain to be analyzed. An ultimate objective is a fully developed theory of adolescent personality which incorporates the sociological perspective.
