Isi artikelIn recent years automotive industries construct their product with four drive wheels. In doing so, there are at least three alternatives for the braking system. The alternatives are braking the rear wheels only, braking the front wheels only and braking all the four wheels. Among the three, the common system is braking the rear wheels only and the rare one is braking the front wheels only. For braking all the wheels is intended to shorten distance and time of retardation. This paper aims to present the analysis of braking forces, braking retardation, the distance in which car comes to rest, and the time need for retardation. A simple computer program is generated by using FORTRAN computer language. The results are being presented as tables containing simulation values of the above mentioned terms. It is found out that the distances and time of retardation are smaller for braking all the four wheels than the two other braking alternatives. While for moving down shows a longer distance and time of retardation.
