Isi artikelAt the beginning of the Commision on Social Determinants of Health (2008), the Commisioners said, naively perhaps, that they wanted to create a social movement to advance the cause of health. The hundreds of people, globally, who were involved one way or another with the Commission, and the many more have risen to its challenge, are part of that movement. Similarly, with the Review of Health Inequalities in England, Fair Society, Healthy Lives (Marmot Review, 2010) - called here the Review. The scores of academics and practitioners who helped with the Review, and the many more who are actively working to implement its findings, could be considered to be part of that movement.
