Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In DKI Jakarta, there are still thousands of suspect cases of TB, which are 2,957 cases of suspected TB spread throughout the region including Penjaringan and Tambora. One of the causes of TB disease is the nutritional status factor. 5.2% of people in Jakarta are malnourished. Therefore, researchers are interested to conduct research on the relationship between adult nutritional status with the incidence of tuberculosis suspect in Tambora and Penjaringan. Method: Descriptive analytic research with Cross-sectional method conducted on 134 adult respondents. The data were collected by interviewing respondents to find out the socio-demographic status, as well as suspect TB symptoms, and measuring height and weight with rollers of meters and digital scales to determine the Body Mass Index (BMI) values. Univariate analysis to find out the picture of adult nutritional status and prevalence of suspect tuberculosis. Bivariate analysis to know the relationship of both variables. Results: The analysis test showed no significant relationship between income level (p = 0,396), gender (p = 1,000), age (p = 0.920), education level (p = 0.974), and adult nutritional status (p = 1,000 ) with suspected TB incidence. Conclusions: There is no significant relationship between adult nutritional status and the incidence of suspected TB. (p> 0.05). |
