It is a rare privilege to have the opportunity to engage in debate about the merits of a paper and we are grateful to Haggis (2010) for her critical analysis of earlier drafts and thoughtful response to the published paper. Her response contains valuable additional information and reinforces in a number of key areas the issues that we have explored in our paper. Disappointingly, it appears that in some cases Haggis misunderstands or misinterprets our arguments.
