We are very appreciative of the comments on our article "Reforming Medical Education: A review and synthesis of five critiques of medical practice" (Sales and Schlaff, 2010) submitted by Weller and Woodward (2010), Whitehead (2010), and Schwab (2010). A full treatment of their critiques is not possible here, but in commenting briefly we hope to re-emphasize points that were intended to be made, and may have been lost, in our original submission.
