Abstract
Introduction: Stroke incidence in Indonesia is increasing. Stroke is known for the second top cause for disability, like cognitive impairment, which is found in 40% of stroke patient. Previous study stated that the improvement of cognitive function in stroke patients were faster in the highly educated patients. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship between level of education to acute phase stroke cognitive function.
Methods: The methods of the research is analytical cross sectional. Data from this research were taken from a secondary data year 2013 - 2016, obtained by doing an interview using a questionnaire and measurement of cognitive function using MMSE.
Result: 119 subjects were obtained with education level as follow, low education (29 %), middle education (68 %) and high education (22 %). Kruksal Wallis test shows that there are significant differences between education level and acute phase stroke MMSE score (p = 0.008).
