Isi artikelThis paper presents the implementation of blogs in promoting autonomous learning of English in a writing class. Previous research on the teaching of English in different contexts has suggested the idea that blogging promotes students’ language learning process. Yannuar (2010) describes blogging as a personal activity, where students were actively engaged in an intense Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) without being asked by teachers. She therefore emphasizes the potential of blogging to promote autonomous language learning. This paper will explore the result of blogging when implemented in two writing classes in the context of Indonesian University. The present study will relate research result of blogging and the actual application in language classrooms.
