We are delighted to have the opportunity to respond to Lillard (2010) and provide additional detail about the comprehensive context-congruent intervention for low-income women who smoke and the participatory and mixed methods employed in this pilot study (Stewart et al., 2010). The length limitations of the journal necessitated key decisions about content to omit, describe minimally, or present more fully.
