This paper describes how written forms of a conversational nature can be employed to enhance collaborative therapy partnerships between speech-language professionals and clients. The theories from which this practice is drawn and the ways in which it enhances both therapeutic partnerships and therapeutic process are discussed. In order to ground this discussion, several examples are provided. There is a brief commentary on the social-political implications of conversational written forms.
