Abstract
Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among Indonesian women. Early marriage can increase the risk of cervical cancer. Age at fist marriage is used as an indicator of age at first sexual intercourse. The cause of susceptibility of this disease is the transformation of the immature cervical epithelial zone. This study was conducted to determine the correlation between early marriage history and cervical pre-cancerous lesion.

Objectives:The study aim was to determine the correlation between early marriage history and cervical pre-cancerous lesion in Muara Siberut Village, Mentawai

Methods: This study is a descriptive analytical study with cross sectional design. The samples taken were 37 woman in Muara Siberut who are at least 30 years old. Data was collected by filling the identity form to obtain the respondent’s age at first marriage and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) to detect cervical pre-cancerous lesion. From the data obtained, performed univariate and bivariate data processing. The analysis used was Fisher's exact test.

Result: Eleven respondents (27,9%) are married at young age (=18 years) and 26 respondent married at proper age (>18 years). VIA examination showed that 4 respondent have positive result / cervical pre-cancerous lesion. Statistically, there were no significant correlation between early marriage history and cervical precancerous lesion (p=1).

Conclusion: There were no significant correlation between early marriage history and cervical precancerous lesion in Muara Siberut Village, Mentawai.
