Abstract
Background: Soil-transmitted helminths(STHs) infections are the most common infections worldwide hose are. STHs (Ascaris lumbricoides, Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale, and Tricuris Trichiura) transmitted by eggs present in human faeces which in turn contaminate soil in areas where sanitation is poor and edemic area The symptoms of STHs infection often to be unknown.. Giving knowledge to adults about corrects preventive are conducive to lower STHs infection in children. Bad knowledge and lack of awareness amongs parents towards STHs infection in primary school children makes parents do not know that their children are infected by STHs.

Objective: To know the relations betwwen knowledge, attitude and practice amongs parents/guardian towards worm disease and worm infections in primary school children in Muara Siberut Villege, Mentawai Island.

Method: This research used descriptive-analytic studies with cross sectional approach, conducted in Muara Siberut Villege on 12th-21st December 2016. The respondents were 1st-3rd grade primary school children and their parents/guardian. Data retrieval through parents interviews with the questionnaire and their children stool examination. The stools were examined with Kato-katz method.

Result: The total respondents are 91 and 14(15,4%) children are infected. Chi-square test shows there is no relationship between knowledge amongs parents/guardian towards worm disease and worm infections in children (p>0,05). Fisher exact test shows there is no relationship between attitude amongs parents/guardian towards worm disease and worm infections in children (p>0,05). Chi-square test shows there is no relationship between practice amongs parents/guardian towards worm disease and worm infections in children (p>0,05).

Conclusion: There are no relations between knowledge, attitude, and practice amongs parents/guardian towards worm disease and worm infections in 1st-3rd grade primary school children in Muara Siberut Villege, Mentawai Island.
