In the year 1970-1996 the Indonesian population of poor is reduced, but the monetary crisis in 1997 led to increasing Indonesia's poor population and declining economic growth. The purpose of this study to analyze the economic growth that influence poverty in Indonesia. In a regression analysis of time series methods in the year 1990 till 2008, this study tried to analyze the effect of economic growth and other supporters of variabel-variabel, namely, government expenditure and the amount of unemployment on poverty levels in Indonesia. In this study the authors found the results quite interesting. Based on estimated results found that significant positive relationship between GDP last year and poverty rate in Indonesia there are negative and significant relationship between government expenditure (GE) with the level of poverty in Indonesia. Therefore, government expenditure (GE) should be increased because it is associated with a reduction in poverty levels in Indonesia.
