Biochemical characteristics of Gram-negative rod bacteri isolated from Eel slime layer obtanined from Tanawangko river of Dimembe District of Minahasa were studied. the aerobic bacteria associated with Eel slime layer were estimate using the pour plate method on nutrient agar (pH 6,8) followed by incubation all the plates at 37C for 24 h. Identification of isolates were based biochemical characteristics and the dominant bacterial were Escherichia (30%), Shigella (15%), Proteus (15%), Salmonella (10%), and enterobacter (10%),. others isolates were identified as pseodomonas (10%), vibrio (5%), and aeromonas (5%).
