In the year 2006 has done research into the mapping of potential rural villages in five provinces standby. Standby Village is a rural village whose inhabitants have the readiness resources and the ability and willingness to prevent and resolve health problems independently in order to create a healthy village. Depiction about knowledge of health workers about the information, definitions and characteristics of prepared villages in five provinces. Source data used are primary data using a questionnaire distributed to health workers who became respondents of research using comparative analysis. The results showed, knowledge of health workers is known that most have heard about the alert village. But there are many (33.3% - 81.2%) health workers who do not understand very well about the definition of the concept of standby village. And (62.5% -100%) did not know about it right on the standby village characteristics. Therefore, knowledge and motivation of health workers on standby village still needs to be improved, so that they can be a facilitator in addressing problems faced by the community.
