PT. DIC Astra Chemicals also has problems in its production process. The problem that is being faced by the company today is the time of high production process starting from the beginning of production until the end of production. A high production time creates waste that harms the company. The purpose of this research is to identify the waste that caused the high production process time which caused the loss at the company and give proposal to the company to minimize the waste that happened on the production floor. From the data that has been collected based on direct observation and has been done the identification of waste that occurs during the production process can be seen that there are three main waste that causes the company's current problems of conveyance waste, motion waste and waiting waste. Where the main cause of the three waste identified on the production floor that is caused by some things that is the placement of goods or equipment that is not appropriate, there is no standardization of work and the lack of reassignment of operators after completion of work and delivery of documents between departments are still done manually. Based on the main causes of the problems in the company then used a lean approach to minimize waste that occurs on the production floor. Implementation of proposals undertaken among others is to apply the 5S system on the production floor, standardize work on every production process and build a network of local information systems at PT. DIC Astra Chemicals. By applying lean approach and implementation it is expected to minimize the waster during production process so that it can give added value and profit to the company if production process can be done effectively and efficiently.
