DIC Astra Chemicals is a company engaging in dyes for plastic products, textiles, paints and plywood. PT. DIC Astra Chemicals used a series of extruder line machines in the process of making dye materials, thus machines run for almost 24 hours a week. Extruder-lines that operated continuously sometimes malfunction which resulting in downtime. Downtime caused by the extruder can disrupt of the company's production process and cause continuous problems for the company. Preventive maintenance activities could be a solution for PT. DIC Astra Chemicals to overcome the machine downtime issues. This preventive maintenance activity would result in inspection schedule and replacement of extruder line component for the period of June 2017 - May 2018. Inspection schedule and component replacement should also be supported by the availability of machine component parts. Inventory of machine parts are required to be in stocks for the replacement of machine parts to be done without waiting for parts arrival. The inventory system used in this research are P and Q inventory system. The most minimal inventory system and in accordance with the conditions of the company is inventory system based in inventory system P for Heater Adapter components and Cable Dies, and inventory system Q Basic EOQ model for Heat Exchanger component.
