The process of moving material manually has the potential for injury to workers. The risk of injury has a great possibility if not pay attention to the working conditions obtained. The purpose of this study was to assess and analyze the injury risk level in manual handling material activity, as well as to improve the condition. The manual material handling investigated is the activity of lifting the pole and loading the goods. This activity was analyzed using Job Strain Index method, Rapid Entire Body Assessment, and Chaffin's Planar Static Model. The results show that most workers who perform these activities have a high level of risk and compression forces exceed the NIOSH standard limits. The condition of this concern is then made several suggestions of improvement, such as improvements with engineering controls that is the tools and material aids proposal, improvement with management controls that is the proposed body position, improvements with work practice controls that is the guidance on the appointment of workers. |
