Abstract
The development of motorcycles industry in Indonesia is greatly increased .The technology advancement to support competitiveness is necessary the manufacturer of a motorcycle .The use of fuel injection technology take precedence over all products by a motorcycle in Indonesia . System fuel injection aims to improve the efficiency of fuel consumption .The use of ecu ( engine control units ) programmable on a system fuel injection can improve their machine performance.
Research conducted in this thesis aims to determine the effect of changes in fuel injection timing of the specific fuel consumption, power, torque, and emissions from motorcycles . Type of research is experimental research. How that is done for the completion of this study is to compare the power, torque specific fuel consumption and exhaust emissions resulting from fuel injection timing changes with different fuel. The fuel used is pertamax turbo and pertalite.Changes in fuel injection timing used is standard, advance5 o ( + 5o ), advance 10 o ( + 10 o ), retard 5o ( -5 o ), retard 10 o ( -10 o ).The results of these tests showed that when using fuel pertamax turbo greatest power is generated using fuel injection advance5 oin the amount of 15,53 hp, torque is greatest with the use of fuel injection timing advance 5 o, specific fuel consumption low by using fuel injection timing advance 5 o. The lowest levels of CO and HC at the time of the use of fuel pertamax turbo.Whereas when using fuel pertalite largest power value with the use of fuel injection timing advance 10 oie 15,48 Hp, the largest torque values with the use of fuel injection timing standard that is equal to 9,73 Nm, the lowest specific fuel consumption with the use of fuel injection timing + 10 o.
