Isi artikelThe right to investigation, or hak angket, is among the instruments granted to the legislature by the 1945 Constitution to fulfil its mandate to act as a check-and-balance towards the executive branch. Article 20 line (A) of the Indonesian 1945 Constitution stipulates that members of the House of Representative (DPR) are granted two categories of rights. Line 2 of the article grants the right to interpellation, the right to investigation, and the right to deliver their opinion. Line 3 of the article grants the right to ask questions of the executive (for purposes of clarification, not suspected wrongdoing), the right to give suggestions and opinion, and the right of impunity. The recent establishment of the House committee (Pansus) to probe the Bank Century bailout was carried out under the House's right to investigation. Below is summary of two important rights of the House.
