This study is aimed at investigating the correlation between the emotional intelligence and the work motivation of employees of the Housekeeping Department of Hotel Santika Premiere Jakarta. The subjects of this study were 37 employees of the Housekeeping Department. The data collection instrument used was the rating scale. The results of this study indicate that some of the employees have a medium level emotional intelligence, and half of them have a high work motivation. The findings also showed a positive and significant correlation between emotional intelligence and work motivation. The higher the emotional intelligence is, the higher the work motivation is.
