Abstract
PT. DIC Astra Chemicals has a main business as a dye manufacturer for plastic products, textile, paint, and plywood. In a production process, maintenance is an important thing. The main function of performing machinery maintenance is to maintain production process flow which will be run continuously. High speed mixer FM-1000J machine is one of production machines in PT. DIC Astra Chemicals. By identifying the critical component of machine, the system will find either preventive maintenance or corrective maintenance which more effective to be applied. Critical component of high speed mixer FM-1000J machine is a pneumatic hose which decided based on the biggest downtime. In order to identify the maintenance system, calculation will be used manually. Starting from identify data distribution damage and repair, using least square method, then goodness of fit test method to assure data distribution, the calculation of Mean Time To Failure and Mean Time To Repair, the time interval calculation of component check up, total stock, time interval of replacement parts, reliability, and the comparison of downtime between before and after implementation of preventive maintenance system. The result of data distribution calculation among the damage is proven exponentially distributed, which means the damage is randomly happen, so preventive maintenance system is not necessarily applied because there is no increase reliability. As a result, the calculation of the replacement intervals cannot be calculated. The implementation of the corrective maintenance system is more suitable to be applied to speed mixer FM-1000J rather than preventive maintenance system, with a 31st days check time interval and 89th days for Mean Time Between Failure.
