Abstract
Waste is an object or item that is considered to be unusable/used again. Currently, the waste into a serious problem that must be solved. Parapat urban village, in the district of Girsang Sipangan Bolon, Simelungun District, North Sumatra Province is one area that has problems regarding waste. During this rubbish just dumped and allowed to accumulate without any processing of waste into a product that has economic value. Biogas, is one of the energy produced from organic waste. The present study aimed to design means of processing organic waste into biogas. Designed tool tailored to the capacity of waste generated every day. The development of the concept in this research obtained by using QFD method.Based on the results of the design tool, created the tool processing organic waste into biogas in the home industry scale. Tool processing organic waste into biogas that has been made to reduce waste problems that exist, and can produce biogas that can be lit up. However, the biogas produced in accordance with organic waste input included, so that less biogas can be utilized optimally. The payback period of manufacture of processing equipment waste into biogas takes 4 years and 6 months.
