This can be seen when physicians are doing surgeries and reading medical imaging. Gum chewing is on of several things that is being studied for increasing brain function and there was only one study that tried to determine it’s effect on visuospatial function. Objectives: This study aimed to look at the effect of gum chewing to visuospatial function . Method: This is an experimental study using Tetris® as a visuoaspatial task. Subjects are preclinic student of medicine faculty Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia Batch 2015 (n=80) which is divided equally into experiment and control group, and so as the male:female ratio. Statistical analysis were performed using Mann-Whitney U with significance level (p)<0,05. Result: There is no effect of gum chewing to visuospatial function that is being measured using Tetris® (p=0,481), although control group has more mean highscore(mean : 22591) than experiment group (mean: 16889). This study also shows that there are no sex differences in doing visuospatial task. Conclusion: There are no effect of gum chewing on visuospatial function, and there are no sex differences in doing visuospatial function.
