Smartphone addiction is believed to be the cause of musculoskeletal disorder that is due to the extensive use of smartphones. Symptoms of musculoskeletal disorder may include dry eye, tenderness, and pain. Objectives: This study aims to examine the relationship between smartphone addiction and its impact on subjective musculoskeletal disorder in Atma Jaya Medical Students class of 2015. Methods: This research is a descriptive analytic cross sectional study conducted on Atma Jaya Medical Students. Smartphone addiction is measured by Smartphone Addiction Scale Short Version (SAS-SV), dry eye is measured by McMonnies Dry Eye Questionnaire, and Musculoskeletal Disorder is measured by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results: Based on the Chi-Square analysis, the study finds that ther is a significant relationship between smartphone addiction with pain and tenderness on hand, pain and tenderness on finger, pain on waist, and pain on feet. Conclusion: This study finds that there is a relationship between smartphone addiction and subjective musculoskeletal disorder.
