Abstract
management has main functions that consist of some processes and activities that create added value, flow continuously, and efficient. To run a good warehouse function, as it is in line to deliver the 6R, warehouse must first establish “the conditions to achieve a successful warehouse” and “warehouse objectives” beforehand to support the warehouse functions (receive, storage, pick, and issue). Thus, warehouse functions will be able to be implemented efficiently and effectively. Warehouse management functions contain processes that add something to material. Added value is not viewed functionally, but as a treatment to the material. This value-adding process is included in the business process category. Therefore, warehouse operation process can be said as a business process activity. Warehouse, as an instrument of business process, is an integration of management function with business processes in warehouse activities with the objective to retain the material’s physical condition (the right material) and material requirements for the user (the right time), according to the initial specification when the order is created, ranging from receiving process, storage, to the issuing process for user.
