Background. As the world becomes more modern, there is a shift in term of the age when a mother gives birth to her first child. Extreme maternal age either too young or even too old in first time labor may increase risk of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. This study aims to describe the risk of maternal age on maternal and perinatal outcomes in first time labor at Atma Jaya Hospital Pluit during year 2013-2015. Objective. To describe the maternal age on maternal and perinatal outcomes in first time labor. Methods. This research is a descriptive research which was conducted by using secondary data from medical records and involving 98 first time pregnancy women who gave birth at Atma Jaya Pluit Hospital, Jakarta. Data studied consist of maternal age, maternal outcomes, and perinatal outcomes. Results and Conclusion. The description of maternal age on maternal outcomes which was found in this research are gestational diabetes and caesarian section. Moreover, the description of maternal age on perinatal outcomes which was found are Low Birth Weight, macrosomia, and low APGAR score. |
