Background: Medical education is full of burden and pressure, therefore medical students are prone towards Depression Disorder and Anxiety Disorder. These have been proven by several researches conducted in the faculties of medicine abroad and in Indonesia. Methods: The deisgn of this research is cross-sectional study and structured interviews by using MINI ICD-10 was carried out among 260 FKUAJ preclinical students, selected by stratified random sampling. Results: Prevalence of Depression Disorder and Anxiety Disorder among FKUAJ preclinical students 2015 are 16,5% and 25,4%. Based on year of study, 3rdyear students (26,6%) have the highest prevalence of Depression Disorder, followed by 2nd year (14,2%), 1st year (13,8%), and 4thyear (12,3%). The highest prevalence of Anxiety Disorder is on 3rdyear students (36,6%), followed by 2nd year (24,2%),4th year (21,5%), and 1styear (20,0%). The biggest proportion of Depression Disorder based on MINI ICD-10 classification is Single Depression Episode (16,1%), followed by Recurrent Depression (4,2%), and Dysthymia (1,5%). Meanwhile, the biggest proportion of Anxiety Disorder is Generalized Anxiety Disorder (11,9%), followed by Panic Disorder (8,8%), Social Phobia (8,0%), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (3,4%), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (3,0%), and Agoraphobia (1,9%). Conclusions: Prevalence of Depression Disorder and Anxiety Disorder amongFKUAJ preclinical students are 16.5% and 25.4%. Based on the year of study, 3rd year students have the highest prevalence of Depression Disorder and Anxiety Disorder. Single Depression Episode is the biggest proportion among the Depression Disorder. Meanwhile, Generalized Anxiety Disorder is the biggest proportion among the Anxiety Disorder based on classifications wtih MINI ICD-10. |
