Children aged 5-12 years have the highest prevalence of obesity in Indonesia. Sleep is believed essential to the process of brain growth in children, this shows that lack of sleep at young age may interfere the mechanism of the hypothalamus that regulates appetite and energy intake. This research aims to describe the quality of sleep and obesity in grade IV and V students of SD Methodist Penjaringan, North Jakarta. METHODS : : The study design used was cross sectional. Subjects in this research were grade IV and V students of SDMethodist Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Body weight and height of the subjects were measured with weigher and microtoise. The quality of sleep were measured with the SSR. The statistical analyses used is Chi-square for sleep quality. RESULTS : The result shows that there is a significant association between gender and obesity (p<0,05), there is a significant association between gender and sleep quality (p<0,05), and there is no significant association between sleep quality and obesity (p>0,05).
