Abstract
Background: Kalianyar is one of the villages in Tambora with quite high of TB case, amounting to 123 cases per 100,000 population. The population density in Kalianyar is very high. The villager of Kalianyar is most engaged in the housing industry such as convection and printing. The high population density and amount of pollution from industrial convection can be a risk factor for developing TB disease in this area. The high TB incidence rates can be lowered by increasing the knowledge, attitudes and behavior will prevention of TB disease in the community.
Methods: The design of this study was descriptive analytic that conducted on people in Kalianyar, West Jakarta. Respondents are given a questionnaire to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding the prevention of TB disease.
Result: Results of univariate analysis showed 57.3% citizens have good TB knowledge level, 52.8% citizens have positive attitude in TB prevention, and 51.7% citizens have good behavior of TB prevention. Bivariate analysis with Chi Square test obtained results there was no relationship between knowledge level with behavior of TB prevention (p=0.435) and there was relationship between attitude with behavior of TB prevention (p=0.003).
Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between knowledge level with behavior of TB disease prevention (p>0.05) but there is a significant relationship between attitude with behavior of TB disease prevention (p<0.05).
