Abstract
Introduction: To keep the body healthy we must pay attention to adequate nutrition consumption. But appetite is difficult to be controlled, therefore it is uncommon to encounter conditions associated with excessive nutrient intake. One example is obesity. Jakarta is one of the provinces with the prevalence showing that the adult population who are overweight and obesity exceeded the national prevalence percentage.
Objective: To know whether there is a correlation between stress during the last week before exam with fast food consumption frequency on faculty of medicine UNIKA Atma Jaya batch 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine UNIKA Atma Jaya batch of 2013, 2014 and 2015. The study population is the university students of the Faculty of Medicine UNIKA Atma Jaya enrolled in 2013, 2014, and 2015 with samples taken by random sampling.
Result: Out of 100 respondents, we obtained 84 respondents who were categorized in the non-stressed group, there were 46 respondents who did not consume fast food often and 38 respondents who often consume fast food. Of the 16 respondents who were categorized in the stressed group, there were 7 respondents who did not consume fast food often and 9 respondents who often consume fast food.
Conclusion: There was no correlation between stress during the last week before exam with fast food consumption frequency among the students at the faculty of medicine UNIKA atma jaya enrolled in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
