Abstract
Today the livestock carrier has operated in Nusa Tenggara Islands with the route Kupang – Waingapu – Bima - Lembar while carrying 500 beef cattle in 14 days. That amount is less than expected in fulfilling the amount of beef needs in Indonesia. By looking at the current condition in which there are limited armada and the amount of beef cattle to be carried. Bali considered to be a potential candidate to be added to the route by looking at its beef cattle population. With that condition a search has been conducted to make a new route suggestion for the livestock carrier with an optimal condition that maximized the total supply with the most minimum cost. Therefore, the scenario that has appeared is the first scenario with total of one ship and the second scenario where the total amount of ship is from 1 to 6 ships. The scenario will be processed with Genetics Algorithm method to find the most optimum condition. The condition that are referred to is a condition with a maximum amount of cow and total minimum cost. The Algorithm method itself is a heuristic method that are used in optimization problems. From the calculation results by Genetics Algorithm method the best proposed route for scenario 1 is Bali – Cirebon – Bali – Tanjung Emas – Lembar – Tanjung Emas- Lembar – Tanjung Emas – Bali – Tanjung Priok with total of 1562 cows and in the second scenario 6 livestock carriercould carry up to 5528 beef cattle. It is hoped that this propositions could be of use for the next livestock carrier route.
