Isi artikelData on 51 fathers and their preschool-aged children were collected for this study on the relations between fathers' job complexity, values of self-direction versus conformity, and perceptions of nurturant and restrictive parenting and children's depression and aggression. Bivariate correlations revealed that fathers' job complexity was related to values, and values were related to fathers' perceptions of parenting. Fathers' values of self-direction and perceptions of nurturant parenting predicted children's depression but not aggression. Implications for practitioners 'and family life educators are discussed.
