Abstract
Human resource, generally called employee, is recognized as determinant factor of success of the business organization or company. If there is any problem in the company, whatever it may be, the core problem is to be found in human resource aspect, also. Big question is: Does the company manage performance of their employee optimally or not. Human Resources Management is a managerial project in which it deals with management of employee's performance individually and collectively. By managing their performance, it could be expected that they make any progress in doing their activities. This thesis is a study to examine the management of employee's performance in PT. Wicaksana Overseas International, Tbk, a consumer goods distribution company in Jakarta. The objective of this study is to know how far a company carries out managerial steps in managing performance of their employees. Data collections is done by using method of observation, questioners, interviewing and reading company's written documents. Conclusion is obtained by using tabulation method analysis. Result of this study is that the company has not yet practiced management of performance optimally and effectively. It has done a very few of performance management actions so that it has lost much opportunity to improve employee's performance in order to get more profit for the company. This study was conducted in two years (2006-2007), by doing observation and analyzing the employee's responses.
