Isi artikelIn line with the reform of the bureaucracy, the reform of the role of Public Relations (PR), at both central and local, need attention as one of the implementing until of government information services. As stipulated by Law No. 14 Year 2008 on Disclosure of Public information that any information is open and accessible by any user of information, must be obtained quickly, timely, low cost and simple way, the goal, creating state enforcement good, that is transparent, effective and accountable. The purpose of this paper is to contribute thoughts about the role of PR in the environmental performance of both the central and local governments in providing quality information services. The methodological approach used direct survey methods to obtain primary data spaciousness, then conducted the literature review that have relevance to the data required. It can concluded that the position of Public Relations of both central and regional governments are structurally echelonization still not proportional and be in a position far away from it leaders, PR agency as an information window in the practice of giving information to the public is still half-heartedly, the institutional professionalism has not supported the role of public relations of
