The social development is inseparable from cultural factors, for the modern lifestyle that social change involves attending various aspects of cultural values. The objective of this paper is to study the cultural development of cultural values of Indonesian society which can be as handicaps in the mastery of knowledge gained through education. The methods used is literature study. The conclusion is that to be an educated person needs to imply the positive strategies to develop a reasonable personality, the mastery of emotions and high self-discipline.
