Muhammadiyah's national congress last week is just the latest in a series that started last year with Golkar, followed by PAN, PDI-P, Nahdlatul Ulama, and the Democrat party. Indonesia's second largest Islamic organization, Muhammadiyah celebrated its centennial anniversary (by the Islamic calender) and re-elected Din Syamsuddin as chairman for 2010-2015. This vote was not only an affirmation of Din's previous tenure, but of this stance on politics and his political standing.
