Abstract
Background : Attention is an important aspect in carrying out daily activities, due attention directly influence cognitive function and executive function. Sport is believed to brought a number of benefits for humans. For not only improving
physical function, exercise can also improve cognitive function in humans.
Methods : This research is an experimental research conducted prospectively. Subjects in this study were medical students in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Study participants will be divided into two groups: the study group and the control group. In the study group, the participants will be given an intervention in the form of aerobic exercise, while the control group was not given any
intervention. After that, attention will be tested with Stroop Test.
Result : There was a decrease of attention of medical students in the Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia post-aerobic exercise, but in 17th minute postaerobic exercise, attention is increasing among medical students in the Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Attention is still increasing until 68th minute postaerobic exercise.
Conclusion : There is relationship between aerobic exercise with attention among medical students in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia and rest periods required post-aerobic exercise is 17 minutes.
