Background: The density of routine activities such as attending the class, working on papers, doing research, studying by himself, or other academic activities may lead to the lack of time to rest. The most striking fact is that the lack of time has reduced the duration of night sleep. Yet good night sleep greatly affects the quality of learning activities, concentration in learning and memory consolidation. Methods:This study is an analytic observational with a cross sectional design. 51 medical students of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia became the respondent of this study. The data were obtained by interview and score of the stroop test, analyzed by Chi-square test. Results:There is no significant association between sleep quality and concentration (p = 0,091), sleep duration and concentration (p = 0,685) and factors that affect sleep quality and concentration (p > 0,05). Conclusion: The respondents with bad quality of sleep has reached 57%. Where 43% of them only sleep 6 hours per night, the longest sleep hours among. The average sleep hour of the respondents was 5,7 hours. Yet, 59% respondents had no problem with their concentration.There is no association between sleep quality, sleep duration also factors that affect sleep quality and concentration. |
