Background: Basic immunization is one of the preventive actions taken to decrease children mortality number caused by diseases that can be prevented by immunization. The coverage of complete basic immunization in Indonesia reached 59.2% in 2013. In Nusa Tenggara Timur, the coverage of basic immunization has not reached 50.3%. The completeness of this basic immunization is affected by predisposing (occupation, education, knowledge, and culture), supporting (family income, the availability of immunization service, the distance from the house to the immunization location) and driving factors (family and healthcare worker support). This research aims to know the effect of predisposing, supporting and driving maternal factors on the completeness of basic immunization of children 3 years in Loura District Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. Method: This is analytical research with cross sectional design. The sample total is 135 respondents, taken using stratified random sampling in Loura District, Southwest Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. The instrument of using is questionnaires. Result: The coverage of basic immunization completeness of children under 3 years old is 71.1% and 28.9% do not receive complete basic immunization. Bivariate analysis shows that there is an effect of education (p=0,001) ,occupation (p=0,037), knowledge (p=0,000), distance from house (p=0,001), healthcare worker support (p=0,000), and family support(p=0,000) on the completeness of children under 3 years basic immunization. On the other hand, there is no effect of family income (p=0,342) and the availability of adequate immunization facilities (p=0,200) on the completeness of toddler basic immunization. Conclusion: Maternal predisposing factors that affect the completeness of children under 3 years basic immunization are occupation, education and knowledge, supporting factors (the distance from the house to the immunization service location), and maternal driving factors (healthcare worker support and family support). Therefore, it is needed cooperation between the mother, family and goverment in an effort to achieve complete of basic immunization. |
