Isi artikelTENANT is the newest method that derived from communicative approach: Natural Approach, Total Physical Respond, and Actional Functional Model (AFM). It is aimed to help the language learners in acquiring the language easily with one of its principles, teaching and acquiring the language, by using teacher and learners’ own tradition or culture. It was experimented to two babies, ZARA and GAZI as the respondents of this method. It was experimented for several months. ZARA and GAZI were guided, leaded, taught in English every day. The English teachers, their parents communicated with them without considering any English patterns or rules. They used English by using their own culture besides helping by visual aids. In addition, they acted and talked the language by using their own accent, intonation, or dialect. Furthermore, they did not specify any materials, time, and places to act and talk the language to respondents. After applying TENANT for several months, the respondents, ZARA and GAZI are able to communicate in English at the age of one and half years (the proof of this method is available on video). They do not communicate with British or American’s accent but they use their own culture (accent, intonation, dialect). In conclusion, teaching English by using teacher and learners’ own culture will help the learners are easier to acquire the language than using foreign culture.
